Who we are

Brian Korte FAIA

Principal

Brian is a co-founder of the San Antonio office of  Clayton Korte in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to Clayton Korte, Brian was a Partner with Lake|Flato Architects for 17 years also in San Antonio, and over that span managed, designed, and detailed custom residential, hospitality and adaptive reuse projects throughout the country ranging from small pool houses to 25,000 square foot residential compounds. He has collaborated with clients from Southern California to New York with projects in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Maryland, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia and Wyoming. Brian’s eye for detail imbues his projects with an exquisite sense of authenticity and craftsmanship and brings a high value to all of his projects.

Brian is currently working on completing vineyard and custom residential projects on the Central Coast of California, as well as projects in the Texas Hill Country, South Texas and Kauai, Hawaii.

Brian’s work has received many local and state AIA design awards and in 2011 Armstrong Oil and Gas received a National AIA Honor Award and an AISC Honor Award. In 2022 Hill Country Wine Cave was honored with an AIA Small Project Award and in 2019 Saxum Vineyard Equipment Barn received an AIA Small Project Award, among many others. His work has appeared in publications such as Architectural Digest, Arch Daily, Architectural Record, Dezeen, Elle Décor, Enki, Gray, Hauser, Interior Design, Luxe, Metropolis, Modern Steel, Residential Architect, Tempus, Texas Architect, Tribeza, and Wine Spectator, as well as books including The New Architecture of Wine published in 2019.  In July 2015 Brian was featured on the cover of Texas Architect Magazine.
