Who we are

Brian Korte AIA

Brian is a co-founder of the San Antonio office of Architects Clayton & Little in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to forming BK.Architect LLC in the fall of 2014, Brian spent 17 years working as a Project Manager and Partner at Lake|Flato Architects also in San Antonio, and over that span managed, designed, and detailed custom residential, hospitality and adaptive reuse projects throughout the country ranging from small pool houses to 25,000 square foot residential compounds. He has collaborated with clients from Southern California to New York with projects in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia and Wyoming. Brian’s eye for detail imbues his projects with an exquisite sense of authenticity and craftsmanship and brings a high value to all of his projects. Brian enjoys craftsmanship on a personal level, designing and fabricating unique furniture and fixtures from wood and steel for many of his clients.

Brian is currently working on completing winery projects on the Central Coast of California for Epoch Estate Wines, Fulldraw Vineyards and Saxum Vineyards, as well as projects in Central Texas and Kauai, Hawaii.

Brian’s work has received many local and state AIA design awards and in 2011 Armstrong Oil and Gas received a National AIA Honor Award and an AISC Honor Award. His work has appeared in publications such as Architectural Digest, Architectural Record, Elle Décor, Hauser, Interior Design, Luxe, Metropolis, Modern Steel, Residential Architect, Tempus, Texas Architect, and Urban Land, as well as books including Corrugated Iron: Building the Frontier, House, Designs for the New Decade, Hill Country Houses, and Out of Town: The Country House.  In July 2015 Brian was featured on the cover of Texas Architect Magazine.
